Terms and Conditions



Amateur means a person who, whether they play competitively or recreationally, plays golf for the challenge it presents, not as a profession and not for financial gain.

Attendee means any Participant and Non-Competing guest.

Consequential Loss means any loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of opportunity or consequential or indirect loss.

Eligible Participants means members of Golf Am Tour Australia who have an official handicap.

Event means the 2019 local tournament.

Event Committee means a committee made up of representatives of Golf Am Tour Australia that will be responsible for establishing and enforcing the terms of the Event.

Golf Course(s) means Mount Compass Golf Course.

Local Rules means the rules of Mount Compass Golf Course.

Member means a person who has registered for a Golf Am Tour Australia event

Non-Competing Guests means an individual who attends the Event as a guest of a Participant and who is not competing in the golfing aspect of the Event.

Participant means a member of Golf Am Tour Australia who has entered into and has been accepted to participate in the Event. A Participant must hold a Golf Australia handicap or an approved country handicap.

Professional means a person who plays competitively as a profession, for financial gain.

Registering Participant means the Participant that registers the Team into the Event.

Team means the 4 Participants that have been assigned as a team to participate in the Event.

Third Party Products means the ability to acquire goods or services from third parties that are not, or on terms that are not, available to persons that are not Members. The provision of Third Party Products will be subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable third party suppliers. Golf Am Tour Australia excludes all liability in relation to Third Party Products.

These Terms and Conditions govern all aspects of the Event, including the website, marketing communications, registration and the Event itself. These Terms and Conditions are effective from the date of publication and may be amended from time to time by Golf Am Tour Australia in its sole discretion.

By registering for the Event, each Attendee agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and is responsible for complying with these Terms and Conditions (as amended from time to time).

If any terms in these Terms and Conditions are illegal, invalid or unenforceable then that term will be read down to the extent necessary to ensure that it is not illegal, invalid or unenforceable, but if that is not possible, it will be severed from these Terms and Conditions and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws applicable in New South Wales, irrespective of the location of the Event or where the registration for the Event has been completed by an Attendee.

Golf Am Tour Australia reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify, suspend or supersede the Event in its absolute discretion if it considers the Event is not capable of being conducted as specified, or if required to do so by law.

Golf Am Tour Australia reserves the right to refuse entry to the Event if an Attendee does not comply with the Terms and Conditions of the Event.

Golf Am Tour Australia shall not be liable for any losses incurred by an Attendee as a result of the cancellation of the Event or a change to the date, time or venue of the Event (whether such cancellation or change is caused by the Golf Am Tour Australia, factors beyond the Golf Am Tour Australia reasonable control or otherwise).

Cancellation fees apply as follows:

For cancellations made at least 14 days prior to the Event, a refund will be given, minus a $50.00 administration fee.

For cancellations made within 14 days of the Event, 50% of the Event Price will be forfeited.

For cancellations made within 48 hours of the  Event , 100% of the Event Price will be forfeited.

Members are required to make their own travel arrangements to the event.

Golf Am Tour Australia exclude all liability for Consequential Loss.

The Event may include the supply of goods or services from third parties (Third Party Products). The provision of Third Party Products will be subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable third party suppliers. Golf Am Tour Australia excludes all liability in relation to Third Party Products.

Each Attendee is responsible for ensuring that all necessary personal insurance policies are obtained prior to the Event.

To the extent permitted by law, each Attendee agrees to release and hold harmless Golf Am Tour Australia and each of their employees, agents, sub-contractors, directors, officers and related bodies corporate from any and all actions and claims which may be made by the Attendee or on behalf of the Attendee or by other parties for, or arising out of, any injury, loss, damage or death occurring as a result of participation in the Event.

Play will be conducted in accordance with the Royal & Ancient Rules of Golf as available at http://www.randa.org/.

The Event Committee will announce any special or additional Local Rules that will apply to the conditions of play for the day. Any player found to breach any of the Event Rules may be disqualified from further participation in the Event.

To verify your registration, all Participants must present to a representative of Golf Am Tour Australia their official handicap card certifying their current Golf Australia or Golf New Zealand handicap. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from the tournament.

Eligible Participants must play off their official handicap as at the time of commencing the first round and not the handicap as at the time of entering the Event. The maximum handicap is 27 for males and 36 for females

Distance measuring devices such as GPS based systems and laser rangefinders that measure distance only are permitted for use in the Event. However, Participants using any such devices designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect a player’s game (for example gradient, wind speed, temperature etc.) are deemed to be in breach of Rule 14-3 of the R&A Rules of Golf (The Rules), the penalty for which is disqualification regardless of whether such devices are actually used.

A draw for the day's play will be made and displayed. Participants shall start at the time and in the order arranged by the Event Committee. A seeded draw may be conducted (in handicap order) and players must start at the time established by the Event Committee, in accordance with Rule 6-3a of The Rules. Starting times will be made known by the Event Committee following completion of player registrations and announced later that day. Rule 6-3a of The Rules provides: "The player shall start at the time established by the Event Committee". The penalty for breach of Rule 6-3a is disqualification. However, it is a condition of the tournament that, in the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7 of The Rules, if a player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes of his starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes at the first hole in stroke play, instead of disqualification.

It will be obligatory for all Participants to play with conforming golf balls and equipment. All conforming balls are listed in the current R&A, and/or USGA approved lists (www.randa.org).

The Event Committee shall have the sole management and control of the tournament, with the full power at any time to alter or vary any conditions. The Event Committee’s decision on any matters affecting the tournament shall be final and the Event Committee shall not be responsible for any disadvantages that may occur as a result of a competitor’s ignorance of the Golf Challenge Guidelines and Regulations. It is the responsibility of each Participant to ensure that they understand the Tournament Guidelines and Regulations.

Pace of Play - To assist in keeping the field moving, Participants are requested to pick up their ball and move to the next hole once they have exceeded the number of strokes allocated and thus are unable to score points on that particular hole.

Dress code - it is the responsibility of the Participant to adhere to any applicable dress code regulations or club rules applied by the golf club. Details of can be found on the golf club’s website.

Golf Am Tour Australia do not accept responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from participation in the Event or acceptance of any prize. Independent financial advice should be sought.

Each Event will be a Team Event which will be run as  a 2 person team amateur Stableford event held over 18 holes. Each team must have 2 Participants and may combine male and female players. The winning team will be decided by the highest team Stableford score over the 18 holes played.

In the event of a tie for either of the top 2 places in the Team Event after 18 holes, the winning teams will be determined on count back over the last 9, 6, 3, 2, 1 hole(s) in that order until a result is achieved. The decision of the Event Committee is final.

The winning Teams from each Event will be invited to enter the Golf Am Tour Australia Final.
